Star of David Motifs
Star of David Hexagonal Granny
I used worsted weight yarns and an H size hook. The Hexagonal Granny measures a little over 4 inches or 11 cm.
I wanted to let you see how this project could be used as a Snowflake Granny, too, so I used the White and pastel Blue colors.
Ch 6. Connect to form circle.
Round 1: Ch 2. Work 12 Hdc into circle. Connect to top of 1st Hdc. (This better hides the beg ch of each round.)
Round 2: Ch 2. Work 2 Hdc into each st, including the first st. 24 Hdc total. Connect to beg ch.
Round 3: Ch 1. Sc in same st. *Hdc and Dc in next st. 2 Trc into next st. Dc and Hdc in next st. Sl st in next st. Repeat from * around circle ending with Dc and Hdc. Connect to beg Sc. End off and weave threads.
Round 4: Attach contrasting color to right hand Trc of any point. Ch 1, Sc in same st. Ch 1 Sc in next st. *Work Hdc, Dc, Shortened Trc, Dc, Hdc- Down one side of point and up the next. Sc into Trc, Ch 1, Sc in next Trc. Repeat from * around star. Connect with beg Sc, end off and weave threads.
Double Star of David Hexagonal Granny
I call this a Double Star, because there is an illusion of a second star created by the open places.
I used a worsted weight yarn and an I hook for this granny.
This granny measures a little over 3.5 inches or 9.5 cm from point to point.
Ch 6. Connect to form circle.
Round 1: Ch 2 (serves as 1st Hdc), 1 Hdc into ring. (Ch 1, Trc, Ch 1. 3 Hdc into ring.) 5 times. Ch 1, 1 Trc, Ch 1, 1 Hdc, connect to beg ch.
Round 2: Sl st to top of Trc. Ch 4. (Dc into same st, Ch 1) 3 times. (Dc, Ch 1) 4 times into all other Trc. Sl St around beg ch. End off and weave threads.

Snowflake Granny
All snowflakes have 6 sides, so I put this granny here.
I used worsted weight yarn and an H sized hook.
Ch 4. Connect to form ring.
Round 1: Ch 4 (serves as 1st Dc/Ch 1 sp). (Dc into ring, Ch 1) 11 times. Connect to beg ch.
Round 2: Ch 2, Dc into same sp. Ch 2, work 1 Dc Dec into same sp. *Ch 2, Sk next Ch1 Sp, and 2 Dc. Work 1 Dc Dec into next Ch1 Sp. Ch 2. Work 1 Dc Dec into same sp. Repeat from * around circle. Connect to beg ch.
Round 3: Sl St into next Ch2 Sp. Ch 2, 1 Dc into same sp. Ch 2, work 1 Dc Dec into same sp. *Ch 3, Sc into next Ch2 Sp. Ch 3, (1 Dc Dec, Ch 2, 1 Dc Dec) into next Ch2 Sp. Repeat from * around circle. Connect to beg ch.
