Apple Motifs

Apple Coaster
In red, green or golden yellow worsted weight yarn, with dark brown and dark green, use a hook to accommodate the size of yarn.
In color of apple, Ch 6 Connect.
Round 1: Ch 3 (serves as 1st dc now and throughout) 15 dc. Connect
with sl st.
Round 2: Ch 3, 2 DC in each stitch. (29 st including ch 3). Connect
with sl st.
Round 3: Ch 3, dc into next st. dc & hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next st, 2hdc into next st, 1 hdc into next st, (2 sc into next st, 1 sc into next st,) twice. Sc & hdc into next st, 2 dc into next st, hdc into next st, sc into next st, hdc & dc into next st, dc into next st, 2 hdc into next st, hdc into next st, (sc into next st, 2sc into next st,) twice. Hdc into next st, 2 hdc into next st, hdc & dc into next st, dc into next st, 2 dc into next st, dc into next st, ch 2
and connect in same st. End off.
Connect brown thread to empty st at top of apple, ch 6-8, sl st into apple, end off.
Weave all threads.
You can add a Dark Green leaf to this also.
Small Leaf Pattern.
Attach dark green thread beside brown stem.
Chain 5, sc in second st from hook, hdc in next two sts, sc in last
st, sl st into apple, end off, & weave threads.

Apple Hot Pad
You will need worsted weight yarns in red, brown and green for this pattern. Plus an H sized hook.
In Red:
Ch 4, connect to form ring.
Round 1: ch 3 (serves as first dc here and throughout) 13 dc into ring, connect.
Round 2: Ch 3, Dc into same st.  2 Dc into each st around circle.  Connect to beg ch.
Round 3: Ch 3, Dc into same st, *1 dc into next st, 2 dc into next st. *Repeat around circle, connect to beg ch. End off and weave threads.

Make 2 of these circles, and match them together with the Right sides out.
Attach Red yarn to any Dc, making certain to go through both circles.

Round 5: Ch 3. Making certain to go through both circles, yo, insert hook in next Dc, yo pull through, yo, pull through 2 loops on hook. Yo, insert hook in same dc, yo, pull through, yo, pull through two loops on hook, yo, pull through all loops (decrease dc). *1 Dc into next 2 sts. 2 Dc into next st. *Repeat around circle up to last 3dc. Crochet one Decrease Dc, ch 2, sc in next st. End off.
Attach Brown yarn to empty Dc. Ch 8, Sl St into same Dc. Turn Apple around so that the Brown Stem is on the Left-hand side, while the Apple body is on the Right.  Pull Loop from Sl St to the other side of the Brown Ch Ring. Work 1 Sc into Brown Ring. Work 11 more Sc into ring. Sl St into Apple. End off and weave threads.
Small Leaf Pattern.
Attach dark green thread beside brown stem.
Chain 5, sc in second st from hook, hdc in next two sts, sc in last
st, sl st into Apple  End off, & weave threads.
