Staggered Shells and Eyelets
Specialty Stitches:
Shell- Work 7 Dc into 1 st or in the center of a V St.
V Stitch- 1 Dc, ch 1, 1 Dc all in 1 Sc of previous row.
Multiples of 8 chs plus 1
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hk. *Sk 3 chs and work 7 Dc in next ch (Shell completed). Sk 3 chs and Sc in next ch. Repeat across row, working 1 Sc in last ch.
Row 2: Turn, ch 3 (serves as 1 Dc). Dc into S. *Ch 2, Sc into top of Shell, ch 2, work V stitch in Sc between Shells. Repeat from * across row ending with 2 Dc in last sc of row.
Row 3: Ch 3 (serves as 1st Dc), 3 Dc in 1st Dc. *Sc in next Sc-skipping the Ch 2 sp. Work Shell in the center of the V Stitch. Repeat from * across row, ending with 4 Dc in between the Dc and Ch 3 of previous row.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3 to create pattern.
Looped Eyelets
Multiple of 5 sts + 2
Row 1: Sc into 2nd ch from hk. Sc in next ch. *Ch 3 (to create loop), skip two ch, Sc into next 3 chs. Repeat from * across block ending with 2 Sc. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1. Sc in 1st sc. *5Dc into Ch3 loop, sk 1 sc; Sc into next sc. Repeat from * across piece, ending with a Sc in end st. Turn.
Row 3: Ch3. Skip 2 Dc, Sc into next 3 dc. *Ch 3, skip 3 dc, and Sc into next 3 Dc. Repeat from * to end. To complete the end, Ch 1 and Hdc into last sc of row. Turn
Row 4: Ch 3 (counts as one dc). 2 Dc into ch 1 sp. Sk 1 sc, and sc into next st. * 5 Dc into Ch3 loop. Sk 1 sc, and sc into next st. Repeat from * across to end. Ending with 3 Dc into last Ch3 loop on very end. Turn.
Row 5: Ch 1. Sc into next 2 dc. *Ch 3. Skip next 3 dc, and Sc into next 3 dc. Repeat from * to end of row, ending with 2 Sc. Turn.
Repeat Rows 2-5 until desired size is achieved.
For Final Row: Ch 1 and Sc into each st across, working 3 Sc into each Ch3 loop. End off and weave threads.
V Stitches in Regular Crochet
Staggered V’s
Use odd number of chs.
Row 1: (Dc, ch 1, dc) in 3th ch from hook (V-St made), *skip next 2 chs, work V-st in next ch. *Repeat across to last 2 chs, Dc in last ch.
Row 2: Ch 3. Work V st in 1st st. *Sk 3 sts (the Dc, Ch 1, Dc of the V st). Work V St in next st. Repeat from * working a V st inbetween V sts of the previous row. Dc around beg ch of previous row.
Repeat Row 2 to create pattern.
V's in a Row
Use Odd number of chs.
Row 1: (Dc, ch 1, dc) in 3th ch from hook (V-St made), *skip next 2 chs, work V-st in next ch. *Repeat across, Dc in last ch.
Row 2: Ch 3, turn; work V-St in center of each V st-or the Ch 1 Sp, Dc in top of beginning ch.
Repeat Row 2 to create pattern.
