I have trouble with these stitches, since I tend to pull the tension tight on the lower portion of the stitch, thus leaving the upper portion very loose. This makes for an interesting visual effect, but does not make for a very tight, heat trapping stitch. I use this for light weight pieces such as spring and fall shawls/afghans.
Double TC with Reverse Foundation-DcTrs:
This stitch is almost impossible, since pulling the yarn to the front of the piece will remove the Yo for the Double Crochet portion of the stitch. Even if you do the Yo backwards, it still gets lost in the mechanics of the stitch, and just isn't worth the effort.
Forward: Ch 1. *Yo. With the Thumb of your Yarn Hand, pull the yarn to the front of the piece. Insert hook under the vertical loop of next st. Yo from back to front pull through and leave loop on hook. Yo and pull through two loops, leaving the third loop on the hook. *Repeat across row with each st, working last st as you normally would for DcTks.
Return: Yo and pull through one loop. Yarn over and pull through two loops.
